Shrimp with Spicy Garlic Sauce

This shrimp was so good, and spicy! I added two teaspoons of Siracha sauce and next time I think I'll only add one. My kids just ate the shrimp before I added the spicy sauce. I  loved it and can't wait to make it again!

Shrimp with Spicy Garlic Sauce
adapted from Appetite for China

Ingredients:
1 pound uncooked large shrimp
3 tablespoons soy sauce
1-2 tablespoons Siracha sauce
2 teaspoons sesame oil
2 teaspoons sherry
1 teaspoon sugar
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 gloves garlic, crushed or finely chopped
1 pinch freshly cracked black pepper
1 green onion, thinly sliced

Directions:
Peel the shrimp and devein them. Set aside.

In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, siracha sauce, sesame oil, sherry, and sugar and set aside.
In a wok or large pan, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Stir-fry the garlic until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Add the shrimp and cook until both sides are pink, about 2 minutes on each side. Add the sauce mixture and stir so the shrimp is fully coated. Season with black pepper.

Remove from the heat and top with chopped green onions. Serve with rice or vegetables.

So I knocked this out last month and have been meaning to post about it in my little spot on the web (I totally linked back to you because that's how I roll!) because it was amazingly good! Thanks so much for the recipe and Happy 4th of July! Cheers!
