Schwan's Fresco by Scotto Review and GIVEAWAY!

Have you ever purchased anything from Schwan's Online Grocery Store and Food Delivery Service? Until about a month ago, I had never really heard of this service. I was contacted by someone from the company to review one of their new meals. I don't turn down free food, so I was definitely up for doing this! The meal itself also sounded really yummy. The meal I was sent included Fresco by Scotto's Baked Ziti, Five Cheese Garlic Bread, Broccoli Florets, and  Chocolate Ice Cream. Fresco by Scotto is a new Italian line that Schwan's is launching. We enjoyed our meal a little over a week ago. I loved how easy it was to prepare! No thawing required, just pop in the oven, and the ziti and bread both baked at the same temperature, so I was able to add the bread to the oven as the ziti finished up. The instructions on each package of food are very easy to understand as well. The baked ziti was actually very good. The only thing it was really missing for my family would be maybe a little meat. It is a meatless baked ziti. But, it really was delicious in my family's opinion and I'm already going to try and recreate it. It has a really good creamy tomato sauce that has plenty of cheese including ricotta cheese, which I hadn't included on my previous attempts at baked ziti. My kids liked it, they like pasta that they can "see through" such as penne and ziti. The portion size is quite small, especially since it doesn't include meat. It was enough for my family, but my boys are two and four and don't eat very much. So, if you decided to order this baked ziti for your family, I would plan on ordering two pans if you have more than two "real" eaters.

Schwan's also sent their broccoli florets and five cheese bread to complement the meal. Adding both of those to the meal helps to complete it and make it more filling. The five cheese garlic bread is absolutely delicious! They send you six individual slices that are each about six inches long, which for my family was plenty for at least two meals! I was really excited to have more for another meal. The same goes for the broccoli florets. I received a large bag of frozen broccoli florets that I was able to use for this dinner and another one. The broccoli cooked easily and tasted good. My boys gobbled it up! But I will have to say that the chocolate ice cream was their favorite thing that Schwan's sent to us, by far! haha But who doesn't love chocolate ice cream? I received a full size container of chocolate ice cream and we're still working on it as we speak. It was delicious and a very generous portion.

All in all we loved our meal from Schwan's! If we could add anything to it, we would add some more to the baked ziti, but like I said, for my small family, it was enough, just no leftovers. I would recommend this meal to others and I have a chance for one of you lucky readers to win a free dinner for your family too!
