Thank you grandma for another great recipe. This is my grandma's go to dessert recipe. Every time I would go and stay with her, she would either have this made for me, or an angel food cake. I loved both and my grandma spoiled my royally always cooking my favorite foods when I came in town. She still does! This is a classic pound cake. It's easy to make and you probably have all of the ingredients in your kitchen right now. Make this for your next get together and you won't have to bring any home because it will all be gone!
Grandma's Sour Cream Pound Cake
from my grandma
Ingredients:
1 cup butter (2 sticks), softened
3 cups sugar
5 eggs
3 cups all purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons Vanilla
1 cup sour cream
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Cream sugar and butter together until creamy and smooth. Add eggs one at a time until mixed well. In a separate bowl, mix flour and baking soda. Add flour mixture to egg mixture a little at a time until all is incorporated. Next, add in cup of sour cream. Finally, add in vanilla. Combine mixture until it is all mixed well. Grease and flour (or use baking spray with flour in it) a bunt pan. I find that the spray with flour in it works the best. I almost always end up with good results when I use it. Pour batter into greased pan and place in preheated 325 degree oven. Bake for 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean. The top will crack and begin to brown, but the rest of the cake will not be burned, trust me! Let cool a few minutes in the pan, and then invert onto a cooling rack and allow cake to cool. Allow to completely cool before slicing.

Nothing better than a good pound cake! LOVE that you made it in a bundt form rather than a regular loaf form. :-)
Thanks Avril! I've never even had pound cake that wasn't in a budnt pan, unless it was frozen! =)
I have been wanting a recipe for a good pound cake. Thanks so much for this!
I love that this is your grandma's recipe. Aren't grandmother's recipes the best? This looks wonderful, there's nothing like a good pound cake. I could use a piece right now with my morning coffee, lol. Thanks for sharing!
